A Cup of Cold Water

Lord, you promised
that those who gave
as much as a cup of cold water
to those in need
would not lose their reward.

As we think of the deprived
in the world,
help us to open our hearts
to your call
to share with them.

Lord, may we be generous
to others
as you are generous
in your mercy to us.
