Since August 2007, Fr Paul O’Boyle has served as the Parish Priest of Clane and Rathcoffey Parish.Paul is a native of Graiguecullen – Killeshin Parish, Co Laois and of a family of six. He studied theology at Carlow College and Social Science and rural development at University College, Dublin and was ordained for the Priesthood on 1st June 1990. As a priest of Kildare and Leighlin Diocese, Paul has ministered in the parishes of Edenderry, Co Offaly, Newbridge and Kilcock, Co Kildare before coming to Clane and Rathcoffey parish in August 2004.
Fr Paul’s ministry as a Priest is both enjoyable and challenging. It involves working closely with the people of the Parish in our local schools, in Sacramental preparation in the Home and Hospital visitations. Fr Paul loves to travel and has journeyed on pilgrimage to Lourdes, Italy, Greece and Turkey, The Holy Land, and most recently to Jordan.
Fr. Paul completed his training as a Psychotherapist in 2016 and is accredited both with the Irish Association of Humanistic & Integrative Psychotherapy (IAHIP) and the Irish Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy (IACP). He also loves all sports especially Gaelic Football and golf, and makes sure to make time for these in a hectic parish schedule!
